"I guarantee that with this training system, you will reduce your hill time, or your money back." — Tony Harvey
You've put in the hours at the track. You're doing the work. But when the gate drops, you're still watching other riders pull away before the first jump. It's frustrating, and worse, it makes you doubt whether you've actually got what it takes to win.
Here's the truth: It's not your effort. It's your program.
General fitness won't cut it in BMX. You need a system built specifically for the demands of the sport. Enter the HRVfit Speed Method.
Backed by my 40 years of BMX racing, strength training, and powerlifting, this isn't just another workout plan. It's a complete, custom-built system designed to do one thing: slash your hill times and get you to the bottom of the hill first. We blend overspeed eccentrics, neural activation, and race-specific sprints to build explosive power that actually transfers to the bike.
How online coaching works, wherever you ride
You don't need to live in Australia to work with me. I already coach BMX riders in the USA, and daily WhatsApp contact is central to how we work together. Your strength and sprint program is built around your goals, race calendar, available training time and equipment. I expect video from every training session so I can monitor your technique, see how you're responding and track your progress. We discuss your sessions, work through questions and make adjustments as needed. I become part of your BMX training structure, working with you as you train at your own gym and local track.
Being overseas doesn’t stop me from being involved in your training. I got up at 4 am on a Saturday here in Australia to watch Max’s gate start session live in the USA so we could refine his starts together. That’s how personally I take coaching my athletes. Through daily WhatsApp contact and video from every session, I become part of your BMX training structure.
What's included in your monthly subscription:
- Custom Program Development: Tailored specifically to your current level and goals.
- Monthly Strength & Sprint Plan: Including a live document to track your hill times and progress.
- Video Review from Every Session: I expect you to send footage from every training session so I can monitor your technique, training response and progress.
- Daily WhatsApp Contact & Weekly Check-ins: Direct communication with me about your training, videos and questions. I become part of your BMX training structure and help you put your program into practice.
- Monthly Track Session (local riders): Train with the rest of the crew at Melbourne tracks. Attendance is not required for overseas riders.
- Race Day Access: Direct support from me when it matters most.
- Nutrition & Supplement Guidance: Fuel your body right, plus exclusive discounts on Max's Supplements.
Who the Speed Method is for: Riders aged 13 and over who are ready to take their training seriously. The Speed Method is a direct coaching relationship between me and the athlete. The rider needs to be old enough to receive coaching, act on it, and own their own training.
If your rider is under 13, the Junior Development 10–12 program is the right starting point, it's built specifically for that age group and the way they develop.
Online coaching FAQs
Can I join the Speed Method if I live in the USA or another country?
Yes. You can receive your personalised program, video review from every session, daily WhatsApp contact and weekly check-ins remotely. You train where you live, and we work together online. You don't need to travel to Australia to take part.
How often will I hear from you?
Daily contact through WhatsApp is part of the coaching relationship. We discuss how your training is going, review your session videos and work through questions. You don't need to wait for a weekly check-in to speak with me.
Do I need to send video from every session?
Yes. I expect video from every training session. It lets me see how you are moving, monitor your progress and give you specific feedback. Your part is to complete the sessions, send your footage and communicate honestly about how the training feels. That ongoing exchange helps me coach you effectively from overseas.
How does coaching work with the time difference?
Your training sessions don't need to happen at the same time as mine. You follow your program on your own schedule and send your videos, questions and training updates through WhatsApp for me to review. We stay in daily contact across the time difference, without needing to be online at the same moment. Replies may come at a different time of day, but you can return to the feedback when it suits your schedule.
How can you help my technique without being at my track?
Your session videos let me review your gates, sprints and manualling and give you specific things to work on. Because you send footage from every session, I can compare your movement over time, see how you apply feedback and decide what to focus on next.
Will my program suit my race calendar and equipment?
Your program is built around you. Let me know your upcoming races, the days you can train, and the gym equipment and track access you have available. That helps us plan sessions you can actually complete and prepare for the races that matter to you.
Do I need to attend the Melbourne track sessions?
No. The monthly Melbourne track session is an in-person opportunity for riders who can attend locally. Overseas riders complete their track practice at home and receive coaching through their program, video review from every session, daily WhatsApp contact and weekly check-ins.
Can I ask questions before signing up?
Absolutely. Email tony@hrvfit.com.au with your age, location, racing goals and any questions about training from overseas. We can talk through how the Speed Method would fit your riding before you commit.
